OUR AIM
A holistic, eclectic yet stimulating and challenging educational experience that encourages independent thought, self-respect, discipline, confidence as well as academic excellence.
An education that produces young citizens who are independent thinkers with physical and moral courage, who are articulate, well-mannered and tolerant, educated in the widest sense of the word, sensitive to the needs of others, and dedicated to the service of their fellow citizens and the community as a whole.
We are affordable yet we give qualitative education.
WHAT WE DO
UNDERSTANDING OUR WORLD
Our curriculum area encompasses a wide spectrum of topics which include learning about ourselves, our immediate environment (school, home and community) and the wider world in which we live. Science, history, technology, environmental issues and cultural awareness are all part of this area and are made even more exciting by including art, music, reading and drama.
PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT
The overall physical development of the children is important. This includes developing body control, strength, manipulative skills and an ability to use and benefit from our physical world. This is done through movement, games and indoor/outdoor play.
CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT
Building creativity is something that happens almost simultaneously with every area of the curriculum. Movement, drama, music, art and cooking allow the children to explore sound, colour, texture, shape and to respond to what they see, hear, smell, touch and feel.
MONTESSORI
Our nursery also gives the children opportunity to work with other very special Montessori equipment in classes filled with activity and discovery which includes both the development of one’s own individuality and group participation in the following areas:
PRACTICAL LIFE EXERCISES
Children learn freely with adult help how to button their shirt, tie their shoes, clean house and other activities. Good manners are also emphasized and children learn to say “please” and “thank you.”
SENSORIAL EXERCISES
Building imaginations with real Montessori Sensorial Materials teach children to use their sense of touch, feeling, taste and smell as a key to the basic understanding of reality.
COMMUNICATION, LANGUAGE AND LITERACY
SPEAKING AND LISTENING
There is a definite focus on helping children to develop the skills of being able to listen and speak in a clear and logical manner as these skills enable children to benefit more from every area of the curriculum. The children are given the opportunity to do this in both small and large groups. They are encouraged to express their feelings as well as develop their thoughts and extend their vocabulary. Stories, poems, topics, songs, drama and role play are used to develop speaking and listening skills.
